Culzean Castle & Country Park
Culzean Castle and Country Park, a National Trust for Scotland property, is conveniently situated in the centre of the proposed path - hence the proposed path name "The Culzean Way".
More information at Wikipedia, NTS Scotland and Facebook.
A recent multi-million pound investment has improved the visitor experience
View south from the castle - the proposed Culzean Way would link the castle to Ayr via the landscape in the distance.
The walled garden
Silver Avenue - now traffic free like the many paths in the grounds
The disused M&D railway runs alongside the park - a possible route for The Culzean Way.
The railway track can be quite boggy and difficult to find.
It's is SAPI's understanding that this section of the railway track is not owned by NTS Scotland, which could explain why it is not part of the parks network of paths and is not maintained.
